Docs In Progress has workshopped more than 175 documentaries through our signature rough cut Work-in-Progress screenings, where filmmakers share a not-quite finished version of their documentary to a general audience. The film is in the final rough cut stage and the filmmaker is seeking constructive feedback to finalize the film.
Projecting Protest is a 22-minute documentary exploring the rise of unsanctioned light projection activism and its implications for free speech. It covers figures like left-wing activist Robin Bell, who projected messages onto the DC Trump Hotel, and Neo-Nazi leader Josh Nunes, whose antisemitic projections led Florida lawmakers to ban such acts. The film challenges assumptions about legality and what may need to be tolerated to preserve the right to dissent.
