Silver Spring
Jacob Newman is the Director of the Silver Spring Regional Office for Montgomery County, a position he has held since 2021. In this capacity, Jacob serves as a key liaison between County Government and the businesses, residents, and visitors of the Silver Spring region. He advises the County Executive and Council on policies affecting a diverse range of stakeholders, with a focus on economic development, land use, workforce development, transportation, public safety, youth development, and health and wellness.
Jacob oversees the Silver Spring Urban District in downtown Silver Spring, managing services provided by the Marketing, Clean, and Safe Teams, as well as the State-designated Arts and Entertainment District.
