With Docs in Progress: Learn how to construct a compelling story through choices of shots and editing. Just because documentary filmmaking is about recording real-life situations, filmmakers still need to pay the same attention to visual storytelling as they would with any fiction film. In essence, documentary filmmakers need to approach their filming with an understanding of visual language and screen grammar. In this workshop, you will learn about the tools of screen grammar and sequencing, and how to break down a real-life situation into the right shots, ensuring seamless alignment during editing.
