A chance to dance to live music and a caller! Welcoming all ages at the Carpe Diem/FSGW Silver Spring Dance: Second Thursdays in the Great Hall of the Silver Spring Civic Building. No experience or partner necessary. Join us for a lively mix of Contras and Squares, Circle and Line dances. Featuring outstanding musicians and skilled dance callers. Starts with a half hour lesson (7:00-7:30pm) for those who are new to contra and square dancing. Dance goes from 7:30-9:30pm. The perfect way to boost your physical, mental and emotional well-being--while also providing a safe space to meet new people and enjoy some social time. Come join us and experience the joy of dance for fun and fitness! $15 general admission, $12 for FSGW members, $5 for students and low-income. Free for first-timers! P.S. Plan your birthday party at the dance and we will provide the cake and candles and birthday song if you give us a few days notice.
