The United States Postal Service will present a secondary New Issue of Stamp Presentation at the historic Baltimore & Ohio Silver Spring Train Station On April 1, 2023 at 11:00 am. The first ceremony was held at Cincinnati Union Station on March 9th. The new set of stamps features images of four historic stations one of which is the station at Point of Rocks Md. This station is 30 miles North of Silver Spring on the same rail line known as the Metropolitan Branch of the B&O that is celebrating its 150th Anniversary this year. Attendees will also be able to purchase the stamp or first day cancellations.
Arts and Crafts with Mr. Reemberto Rodriquez! We will be talking trains and metro. We will also be crafting a train! Please bring a regular sized (empty!) shoe box. We'll provide the crayons and other craft supplies. Reemberto Rodriquez is a grandfather of two who lives in Silver Spring, where he formerly served as Regional Area Director and now continues community work. He is a life-long artist-want-to-be, always looking to learn and improve. Events sponsored by Montgomery Preservation.
During MPI Open House, we ask, recommend anyone inside the building wear a mask in consideration for Vulnerable Patrons & Staff of All Ages. Outdoors, masking is optional.
