Two households, both alike in dignity, in divided Berlin we lay our scene… Experience Shakespeare’s famous tragedy in a brand new landscape! In 1980s West Berlin, Romeo is the lovelorn teenage son of rich business magnates. One night, his punk friends convince him to risk life and limb and sneak into a party in East Berlin, on the other side of the wall. There he meets Juliet, the only daughter of high ranking Stasi officials. What ensues is a desperate attempt to love and live across cultural, political, and very physical borders. Featuring music by David Bowie, Nina Hagen, Malaria! and more, Romeo И Juliet follows the ways that young people strive against war and political oppression. June 3rd and 4th at 7pm! at the Silver Spring Black Box $12 Students and Seniors $18 General Admission
