Learn to make your own colorful dyes, naturally!
In this new workshop we will explore different ways to create and manipulate color from everyday fruits and vegetables. Attendees will learn how to create natural watercolor paints by extracting pigment from beet, red cabbage, turmeric, and spinach. Instructor Madeline Hook will teach everyone how to translate the plant matter into watercolor paint using cheesecloth, boiling water, baking soda and lemon juice. Workshop attendees will also gain in-depth knowledge of the history and cultural impact of paints, as well as how to implement various painting techniques and methods. Once the workshop is concluded attendees will be able to bring home a natural watercolor painting of their own along with their newly created natural watercolors!
Light refreshments will be provided to fuel your creativity!
