It’s 1968 in San Francisco, a time of culture clash, flower power, and….Shakespeare?! That’s right folks, the Arden Players Community Theatre are attempting to put on the Shakespearean comedy “As You Like It”, or as the new owner of the theater calls it: “Have It Your Way”. But the new management has rewritten the show with parts for 50 local youth and made some strange demands. With the grit, determination, and enthusiasm that only community theatre can inspire, the Arden Players embark on the grooviest, most chaotic rehearsal process the stage has ever seen. Come to the Silver Spring Black Box for AS YOU DIG IT to see if the show will indeed go on despite absences, rivalries, and budding romances in the cast. Joining this hippy love fest with live renditions of 60s hits will be the super cool Silver Spring/Takoma Park band, at their first gig ever – The Shakespearience!
